Terms of Service

Plain English: I write the strongest grant application I can; your city reviews it and submits it. I charge a flat fee, never a percentage of the grant, and I can't promise an agency will say yes. These terms spell that out.

1. Who I am and what I do

GrantWrite is the practice of Valerii Cheipesh ("I," "me") prepares grant applications and related documents for small towns, rural communities, and similar organizations ("you," "the client"). By using this website or engaging my services, you agree to these terms. Questions: grants@smalltowngrants.com.

2. No guarantee of funding

Grant decisions are made solely by the funding agency (such as USDA or FEMA), based on your eligibility and competition. I do not and cannot guarantee that any application will be approved or funded. You pay me for the work of preparing a strong application — not for the agency's decision. Any service that promises guaranteed grant money is not telling you the truth.

3. What you're responsible for

Accurate information. You provide complete, truthful information about your community and project. I rely on it, and the strength of the application depends on it.
Final review and submission. I deliver a complete draft; you review every word, verify the facts, and your authorized official signs and submits the application to the agency. The submission is always made by your city, not by me.
Required approvals. Obtaining any council resolution, local match commitment, or other approvals your application requires is your responsibility, though I'll tell you what's needed.

4. Fees and payment

I charge a flat fee, agreed in writing before work begins.
You start with a $250 deposit; the balance is due when the finished application is delivered to you.
My fee is never a percentage of the grant and is not contingent on whether the grant is awarded.
My fee is a standard consulting expense. The cost of preparing an application generally cannot be paid out of grant proceeds, so plan to budget it as a normal professional service.

5. The work is yours

Once my fee is paid, the application and documents I prepare for you belong to you, to submit and keep. I may describe my work in general terms (for example, "a fire-station application for a town of about 1,200") for my own portfolio, but I will not publish your community's confidential information without your permission.

6. Confidentiality and privacy

I treat the information you share as confidential and handle it as described in my Privacy Policy. I never sell it, and I never share it with third parties without your permission.

7. Not legal, financial, or engineering advice

I prepare grant applications. I am not your attorney, accountant, or engineer, and my work is not a substitute for professional legal, financial, or engineering advice. For cost estimates, environmental reviews, or legal questions, you should consult the appropriate licensed professional.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, my total liability for any claim relating to my services is limited to the amount of fees you actually paid me for the work in question. I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including a grant that is not awarded.

9. No affiliation with government

GrantWrite is an independent service. I am not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of USDA, FEMA, or any government agency.

10. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of my services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
